working on 2000 jetta gl 4 cylinder, auto, I turn car off and dash lights stay lite, rear dome lights and rear license plate all stay lite..... remove battery lead and replace and dome lights go out but the dash stays lite...
I pulled out the headlight switch, lights still all came on, Nothing seems to have been done to the car prior to this issue. Where does the dash lights get there power..??? Is there a relay inline that could be faulty?? Anyone.....

Already Tried:
Checked Fuse panel on door jamb, removed headlight switch and dimmer still lite up..... headlights come on automatically. turn car off dash lites stay on door lights, interior dome lights in the rear and rear license plate light all stay on after the key is removed..... ordered new dash switch but it hasnt arrived, next thought the dimmer and then the column key switch...
